The installation and maintenance of ball valve is related to its service life

l   Installation of ball valve

1. Any section of the ball valve can be installed at the upstream end, and the handle ball valve can be installed at any position of the pipeline. If the ball valve is equipped with actuator (such as gearbox, electric pneumatic actuator), it must be installed vertically, and the inlet and outlet of the valve are in the horizontal position.

2. Install gasket between ball valve flange and pipeline flange according to pipeline design requirements.

3. The bolts on the flange shall be tightened symmetrically, step by step and evenly.

4. If the ball valve adopts pneumatic and electric actuators, complete the installation of air source and power supply according to the instructions.

 

l   Inspection of ball valve after installation

1. After the installation, start the ball valve to open and close several times. It should be flexible, evenly stressed, and the ball valve should work normally.

2. According to the pipeline pressure design requirements, the sealing performance of the joint surface between the ball valve and the pipeline flange is tested after the pressure is applied.

 

l   Maintenance of ball valve

1. Only when the pressure before and after the ball valve is removed can the ball valve be disassembled.

2. In the process of disassembly and reassembly of ball valve, it is necessary to protect the sealing parts, especially the non-metallic parts, such as O-ring, etc., with special tools.

3. When reassembling the valve body, the bolts must be tightened symmetrically, gradually and evenly.

4. The cleaning agent shall be compatible with rubber parts, plastic parts, metal parts and working medium (such as gas) in ball valve. When the working medium is gas, gasoline (gb484-89) can be used to clean metal parts. Non metallic parts are cleaned with pure water or alcohol.

5. The decomposed individual parts can be cleaned by immersion. The metal parts with undecomposed non-metal parts can be cleaned by dry rotor pump with fine and clean silk cloth impregnated with cleaning agent (to avoid fiber falling off and adhering to the parts). When cleaning, remove all grease, dirt, glue and dust adhering to the wall.

6. The non-metallic parts shall be taken out from the cleaning agent immediately after cleaning, and shall not be soaked for a long time.

7. After cleaning, it needs to be assembled after the washing agent volatilizes (it can be wiped with silk cloth without soaking the cleaning agent), but it should not be put aside for a long time, otherwise it will rust and be polluted by dust.

8. New parts also need to be cleaned before assembly.

9. Lubricate with grease. The grease shall be compatible with metal materials, rubber parts, plastic parts and working medium of ball valve. When the working medium is gas, special 221 grease can be used. Apply a thin layer of grease on the surface of the seal installation groove, a thin layer of grease on the rubber seal, and a thin layer of grease on the sealing surface and friction surface of the valve stem.

10. During assembly, metal debris, fiber, grease (except those specified) dust, other impurities and foreign matters are not allowed to contaminate, adhere to or stay on the surface of parts or enter the inner cavity
